About FactorCat
The problem
Most people know they should use two-factor authentication. Most people don't. The reason isn't ignorance — it's friction. Unlock your phone, open the authenticator app, find the right account in a list of 20+, read a 6-digit code, switch back to your browser, type it in before the 30-second timer expires, hope you didn't transpose two digits. Do that several times a day, every day. It's no wonder people give up and stick with SMS — or skip 2FA entirely.
What we're building
FactorCat is an authenticator app that eliminates the friction. Your browser extension detects the MFA field. Your phone gets a push notification. You tap approve. The code fills in automatically. The entire flow takes about 3 seconds and requires zero app-switching.
We're not a password manager. That's intentional. Combining passwords and MFA tokens creates a single point of failure. FactorCat keeps your second factor separate — where it belongs.
Why it matters
MFA adoption is still below 50% for most consumer services. The tools exist — the experience doesn't. If we make MFA as easy as signing in with a password, more people will use it. That's the mission: get more people using MFA by making it invisible.
